Guess the correct greeting is Hi Cousin...

Thanks for the attachment, that makes a lot more sense now.

Yes, looks the correct family, I didn't know anything about the other
      children.
Would I be correct in thinking that the Peter Murphy born 1846 may have
died, given that there a Peter Murphy born 1859?

I may have found where Peter (grtx2 Grddad) is buried, possibly Greymouth
NZ. I am awaiting Death Certificate info from Dept Interal Affairs on a
Peter Murphy burial which appears to fit the dates I have.

Yes, I will be researching this further and will advise what I find.
In the meantime what sort of an internet link do you use? Broadband or
      dialup?
I could forward some items I have but they are a bit on the large size for
dial up. Otherwise I will copy of print the certificates & pictures and
      forward them via the mail.

Interestingly on Denis & Catherines marriage details, Catherines parents
Peter and Jane are noted as witnesses, Publicans of St. Kilda and Catherine

H'mm may need to send you a map of NZ yet.

Been using Google Earth to find Pleasant Creek, was that a goldstrike in the
      1850's?

I have been trying to contact Cameron Murphy, a son of Lionel but have had
no response from him using an email address of the NSW Civil Liberties
Office where he has a Senior position. I am guessing from your attachment
that Peter M (my Grtx2 Grddad) is the brother of Lionel's father from the
information in Lionel's biography on that site.

As an aside, Jude & I much prefer Melbourne to Sydney when we come 'over the
      ditch'.
Think it is due to Melbourne being similar to Christchurch & Wellington
while Sydney is like Auckland (and we don't like Auckland either.) We really
only go to Sydney when we want to get out to Lord Howe Island so don't stay
long, Melbourne however is a much different matter.
I was going to ask where Champagne Grove was, but using Google Earth again I
could get directions almost to your door. The Satellite photo indicates you
may be on a corner section, would that be right? And we could drive out to
your place in about an hour the next time we are in Melbourne, isn't
      technology wonderful!!!

      Hi Les,

Found the correct family in my database. It appears that the family left
AU for NZ shortly after the last children were born. Would it be
possible for you to research the other members of this family to
      understand what happened to them?

I would be interested in any information that you wish to exchange on
      this family.

      Kind regards,
      Andrew
