On the 22nd at his own house, The John O'Groats Hotel, Campbells Creek, Mr George Barnsley, late of Penrith, England, Age 35 years.

John Gates ch 10 Jun1849, Northampton, Northamptonshire,
and with his parents-in-law, John and Ann Gates, all unassisted migrants.
John Gates Barnsley married Johanna Clara Driscoll and they had at least 9 children. He died in May 1903 and left her to bring up all these kids in Georgetown, Queensland. This is Keith Batemen's line.
A daughter Pauline Herlessa, was born at sea off the Isle of St Paul, according to her marriage and death certificates. There was also a daughter
Mary Anne Scott Barnsley, born 1851, who had died. Later on they had another children,

George died 1858 in a mudslide (Possibly died alone as little info on death cert) George, Annie and Annie's parents all dead within 10 years of arriving in Oz. Annie was bizzarely murdered

I am now retired, living on the Gold Coast and actively doing genealogy. Please keep in touch. I have unearthed a letter from Johanna Barnsley written to her brother in law 1 week after her husband's death in Georgetown. Very interesting he left hospital after 2 weeks to come home to die with his family
