- Birth information from "Fooks family records" but may be incorrect as age at death is given as 1 year 4 months. There is a problem with the death of this child as an entry in the Bible of James WESTBROOK gives the death date as 7 March 1821 an d the place of death as "England".
Further confusion as the birthplace of this child is shown in the Bible of James Westbrook as 'England'. As the family arrived in Hobart Town on April 20th 1820 it would seem the child was born at sea. The arrival record shows the Westbrook fami ly consisting of Dr James Westbrook his wife and one child. This would be correct as Mary Ann died in England in 1818. Some elderly descendants claim that the child which arrivedwith the family was Eliza however she was born in 1821 after the
family had arrived in Van Deimans Land.
James and family arrived in the Colony in April 1820 and the burial record seems to confirm that the child died in Tasmania (VDL)
