Dad was a Corporal in the Australian Army in World War 2 (VX135085). His place of enlistment is recorded as Adelaide River, Northern Territory, on 4 March 1943. He listed his next of kin as his father, JAMES WESTBROOK, at that time. Sadly his father died in Ballarat only a few weeks after Dad's enlistment date, and he was buried in Ballarat on 22 March 1943. Dad's Army discharge was on 5 April 1946. His posting at that time was 110 Brigade Ordnance Field Park AAOC.
