      Hi Andrew

I came across your site whilst researching a famous relative William Kendall Gale who I believe was my grandmothers cousin or uncle. My grandmothers maiden name was Lily Gale (later Kendall) born in May 1888 or 9, died in Saltaire March 1974. Her father was Leonard Gale ( I presume from your site James Leonard Gale) who was related to William Kendall Gale (the missionary).

I have no idea how the Gales and indeed Porters are related to the Kemps. Perhaps a distant line.

Incidentally you are missing details of my grandmothers youngster sister Sarah Gale (later married Brooks) who was born in January 1906 in Addingham and is still going strong at 105. She is my great aunt.

My mothers maiden name is Joan Kendall born in Feb 1923 in Saltaire. James Leonard Gale was her grandfather.

I would be pleased to fill in the blanks if you contact me. The Gale family genealogist is Brian Clayton who is a distant relative of mine who I can put you in touch with.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

      Geoffrey Porter
